An Engagement Manager with the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Ewan splits his time between the office and the outdoors, spending as little time as possible in between.
After graduating with a design degree, Ewan relocated to Whistler, British Columbia, where he worked in the Merrell concept store, as a photographer for Ziptrek Ecotours, and chairlft operator at Whistler Blackcomb.
Drawn by his interests in both heritage and communication, Ewan subsequently
completed an MSc in Interpretation Management at UHI, before finding a himself in Tourism & Marketing at Nevis Range, Fort William, where his love of mountainous places was affirmed.
Subsequently, Ewan worked for the Rural Development Trust, based at New Lanark World Heritage Site with the Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership, developing a range of HLF funded projects, and with the Community Action Lanarkshire project, working with local communities to engage with, improve and interpret their local landscape. In 2019 he moved to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, helping to engage people with heritage funding and develop meaningful heritage projects.
